Tiramisu (without raw eggs)

I found this recipe on the internet somewhere (Sorry, cannot remember where) and adapted it to my tastes.

Basic recipe
250 gr. Mascarpone
500 gr. Yoghurt (Alternatively use 250 g. quark/fromage frais)
375 ml Whipping Cream (slagroom)
75 gr. Powdered Sugar
125 ml Really Strong Coffee
125 g Dark chocolate
1.5 pack Lady Fingers (lange vingers)
1.5 tablespoon Cocoa powder
25 g Coffee-flavoured liqueur or non-alcoholic substitute

  1. If you are using yoghurt, first drain it overnight to get rid of excess water. This is not necessary if you use quark/fromage frais.
  2. Make some really strong coffee.
  3. Whip cream in a chilled bowl with chilled beaters
  4. Combine Mascarpone, powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons cool coffee and 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur in a large bowl
  5. Beat 1 to 2 minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed until just blended. Do not overbeat.
  6. Fold the whipped cream into the Mascarpone mixture.
  7. Divide the mixture in half.
  8. Melt the chocolate and let it cool slightly.
  9. Fold the molten chocolate into one half until there are no white streaks remaining.
  10. Combine remaing coffee and coffee liqueur in a pie plate.
  11. Select enough lady fingers to line bottom of glass oven dish
  12. Quickly dip them inro coffee mixture (dip quickly so that they do not get wet and spongy)
  13. Line inside of dish with lady fingers (dipped side out)
  14. Brush inside of ladyfingers with coffee mixture.
  15. Spread chocolate mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers in bottom of dish
  16. Cover with another layer of quickly-dipped ladyfingers, setting them dipped side up
  17. Spread remaining white mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers.
  18. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  19. Sift cocoa over the top.
  20. Cut tiramisu in pieces and serve with flat spatula.
